This isn’t a 30 day challenge if anyone’s wondering. This is me blogging my attempts at learning how to lucid dream.
Last night I decided I wanted to learn how to do it, and there were some great tips on http://www.lucidity.com/LucidDreamingFAQ2.html. For those who dont know, lucid dreaming is the ability to realize you’re in a dream, and take control of your actions.
From what I understand reading online, there’s a lot of things to help train my mind in to inducing lucidity. I’m supposed to keep a journal of all my dreams (recording the details AS SOON as I wake up from one), and in that journal look for similarities throughout all my dreams. If I can find similarities they might stick in my brain and I might notice them in a dream. I’m also supposed to draw an ‘A’ on my hand and check for it throughout the day - the idea behind that is if I can train my mind in to looking for it during the day, I might look for it in my dream, but it won’t be there. The last thing I’ll be doing is performing 3-7 ‘reality checks’ during the day, or any time I can remember, or if something in my real world looks out of place. These include flipping a light switch, looking at my fingers, looking in mirrors, looking at digital clocks, and other things. It’s the same idea behind the A on my hand.
Sorry for the long post! I’m really excited to learn how to be aware in my dreams. You should try it too, maybe?
